This could be a disaster!” I am always leery of films based on novels, comic books, old TV shows – just about anything that isn’t an original idea. I adore Jennifer. She’s a one-in-a-million talent and I look forward to watching her win her Oscar in the future. But I questioned her reasoning in signing to do this film. She already had a comic book blockbuster going; why did she need to do something that was so iffy and controversial? Why not look for another good, small film like Winter’s Bone to solidify her standing as a superb actress? But now, having seen the pictures, having heard her thoughts, and mostly, having read all three books in the Hunger Games series, I can’t think of anyone else who could do justice to the role of Katniss. I trust Jennifer’s talent. Even if the movie isn’t great, she has the ability to rise above a bad script, bad direction – just about anything that could go wrong. She’ll shine as Katniss, as she shines in everything she does. And she looks absolutely amazing!
